11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Joy is the second revelation of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). This joy that is born in us by the Holy Ghost rises above circumstances, and focuses on the very character of God. There is so much to be joyful for in the Lord. We can rejoice over God's righteousness (Psalms 71:14-16), salvation (Psalms 21:1; 71:23), mercy (Psalms 31:7), creation (Psalms 148:5), Word (Psalms119:14, 162), and faithfulness (Psalms 33:1-6). This joy is a joy that surpasses earthly understanding...
11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
This joy is also a weapon against the wiles of our enemies. As long as you keep the Lord at the center of our world, as long as you allow the Holy Spirit to live in your heart there will be a joy that comes from within. You don't even have to ask the Holy Spirit to give you joy, it comes when you need it... and sometimes, just because He loves you and wants to rejoice with you ^_^ When the heathens rage, when Satan throws everything he's got at you, when the world tries to beat you to your knees... praise will keep joy in your heart, and joy in your heart will keep a praise on your lips. You can take refuge in the Lord, and find the strength to stand in the joy of the Spirit.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
3 Because thy loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips;
Satan knows that if he can steal your joy he can stop your praise. We are bombarded by him daily, which is why it is important to spend time in the Word daily. Keeping scriptures in your mind and in your heart. The Spirit will bring the right scripture to your remembrance for every situation and occasion. When this happens and you know, that you know, that know that He loves you and His presence is so real to you, joy can fill your heart to an overflowing point. You can be so full of the joy of the Spirit that you can't help but shout! The world tries its hardest to steal your joy, but the world didn't give it to you, so the world can't take it away. Even when we mess up (as we so often do) As long as we repent from the heart, and sincerely try to do better in not falling into the same traps of the enemy over and over. It's a struggle, but as long as your heart is tender, as long as you are willing to admit that you messed up, as long as you can still say that your sorry, as long as you aren't ashamed to praise Him, as long as you can fight to keep His Word in your heart...the Lord will strengthen you to endure the night season so that you may experience joy in the morning.
5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Sometimes you have to be patient and wait upon the Lord.
13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
God Bless ^_^
